Lasec® Education was registered in August 2019 and is part of the Lasec® Group of companies.
For over 70 years the Lasec® Group has been supplying quality dependable solutions and services to the laboratory and scientific community in South Africa.
As one of the first laboratory suppliers to expand beyond our borders, we have been meeting customers’ needs throughout Africa for more than 20 years.
We extended our reach into education in the year 2000 with the acquisition of Scientific Teaching Aids, an educational product manufacturer situated in Pinetown, and after trading as Edutrade for a number of years, we finally emerge as Lasec® Education, a BBBEE Level 1 company. Lasec® SA (Pty) Ltd achieved B-BBEE Level 1 certification, not only through our ownership structure but also through ongoing investment in the further development of skills of historically disadvantaged members of our team, developing historically disadvantaged suppliers and procurement from B-BBEE companies. Through the identified initiatives, the Lasec® Group is committed to playing a meaningful role to achieve lasting positive change in South Africa.
Our classroom laboratory solutions include resource and classroom assessment, teacher and learner activity guides as well as educator workshops designed to increase confidence in the practical use of the equipment. Our kits are optimised for the African context and are aligned to the South African Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement of the Department of Education. Currently 65% of our product range is manufactured in our ISO certified KwaZulu Natal factory.
