The New Dawn of Natural Sciences for Foundation, Intermediate and Senior Phases: Term 1

COVID-19 has disrupted the learning and teaching environment and, as a result, has had a major impact on the school curriculum. The pandemic has shown us why it is fundamentally important to establish a well developed and understood foundation that allows learners to prosper despite the circumstances.

Lasec® Education's mission is to enable and empower students and teachers, our future scientists and leaders, to reach their full potential. To help develop a solid foundation of knowledge for students, teachers and parents, Lasec® Education will proudly be posting blogs, preparing online activities and sharing videos that include term relevant topics as well as relevant educational equipment supplied by Lasec® Education. This will allow ongoing, hands-on learning, while in the classroom or at home, and will alleviate the pressure that comes with Term 1.

Kicking off TERM 1 of 2021 with the Theme of Structures and Life and Living!

Life and Living and Structures are the prominent themes for Term 1. One of our most exciting products that covers these themes well is our Bio-Display Box.

Using the Bio-Display Box you can create a wormery, depicting a 'slice' down into the ground. Learners will discover the ecosystem in which earthworms live and be able to observe their burrowing behaviour. The Bio-Display Box, made of clear perspex and plywood that blacks out the sides, also beautifully displays the germination of plant seeds. This activity simplifies all plant related experiments such as photosynthesis. You will find it to be a very useful piece of apparatus to cover the term 1 topics of the ecosystem and seed germination in Grade 4-7 Natural Sciences.
